CHILDREN OF BODOM Drummer Breaks Rib, Vows To Continue Touring

CHILDREN OF BODOM drummer Jaska W. Raatikainen has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"Just to inform you all that I broke a rib a few days ago. I have been taken really strong medicine since Gothenborg show [on February 3] because I wouldn't have been able to play a note because of the unbearable pain. I have been eating them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and after the show and trying to finish the tour somehow. So, what I'm trying to say is that if we are playing shorter shows or whatever, it's nothing but saving my body for the rest of the shows."

CHILDREN OF BODOM frontman Alexi Laiho broke a toe on his right foot during a show in Barcelona on Jan. 21 by slamming it into a monitor wedge.

As previously the Swedish film company Revolver, led by the director Patric Ullaeus, was scheduled to film CHILDREN OF BODOM's February 5 gig in Stockholm, Sweden for an upcoming DVD release. The "Trashed, Lost & Strungout" promotional video was filmed by Revolver and the company's most recent works include "Take This Life" by IN FLAMES and "Sorgens Kammer del II" by DIMMU BORGIR.

Laiho and fellow CHILDREN OF BODOM members Roope Latvala (guitar) and Henkka T. Blacksmith (bass) will hold a clinic during the Finnish Metal Expo in Helsinki on February 17. On the same day, the annual Finnish Metal Awards will be presented. COB are nominated for the Best Album and the Best Band, while Alexi and Roope are both nominated in the Best Musician category.

CHILDREN OF BODOM are in the middle of a European headlining tour with EKTOMORF and ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET. The band's next live appearance will take place on Tuesday, February 7 in Umeå, Sweden.

CHILDREN OF BODOM's North American tour with CHIMAIRA and THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD will kick off on March 18 in New Haven, Connecticut. GOD FORBID will replace CHIMAIRA beginning on March 25 in Columbus, Ohio.
